Career Source Training Opportunities

Keep your skills in high demand

Do you need to improve your skills to help you get a job? Career Source works with a variety of state-approved training programs to provide free or low-cost courses for eligible job seekers who are collecting unemployment or low-income.

Dislocated Worker Program - This federal program provides services to individuals receiving unemployment insurance. Are you unemployed? You may be eligible for free training - AND for collecting unemployment while you're in training (Section 30).

 If you are collecting unemployment, you may apply for Section 30 by the 20th week if you are attending a training program on the approved list.

If you're approved for Section 30, you may collect unemployment for the entire time you're in training OR up to 26 weeks, whichever comes first.

Low-income Adult Program - You may be eligible for free training if you meet Massachusetts low-income guidelines. Contact Roxana Menjivar at 617-884-4333 or

In-house Computer Training - We offer self-paced, instructor-assisted training in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks programs. Enrollment is ongoing. Classes are held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. We have free training slots - find more information here!

Instructor-assisted Computer Lab - We also offer four hours of fee-based instruction in Microsoft Office in our Computer Learning Lab. Instruction is tailored to your needs, and is scheduled mornings at your convenience. To schedule, contact Kelly Gollobin at 617-661-7867 ext. 228 or

Certification Exams - Certification will make you more marketable to employers. We are a Certiport Testing Site, and offer certification exams for:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist
  • Intuit QuickBooks
